Lets’ talk a little bit about style all to you Southern Gentlemen out there…
As summer heats up be sure to keep your style game sizzling. We are going to give a few helpful tips on keeping it cool with some 4th of July style tips. First of all, we know it is hot in the Deep South this time of year and many people prefer to just wear shorts and frankly my dear… we don’t blame you. However, there will be some occasions that require you to ditch the shorts and flip flops and step it up a notch. For those events we gotcha covered and we promise it will not break the bank! Take a look at the ensemble below. This would be great for an outdoor wedding or other event that requires a coat.
Guys… a tie is always encouraged. However, I realize that not everyone is comfortable in a tie. So what do you do? Just put that pocket on the chest of your jacket to good use! Throw in a pocket square and check you out – a little style with no discomfort. Check out this groom – no tie but he still killed on his big day with a little help from a white cotton pocket square with blue piping… Not to mention his sport coat was on point for this Alabama heat.
Just a few more fyi’s… The most essential piece of any good man’s wardrobe is a crisp, white shirt. We recommend a nice broadcloth for the hot days – button down or spread collar. If you were wearing a tie, go with the spread collar… without a tie, go with the button down. A blue blazer is always in style and for the summer it does not hurt to have a lighter shade blue blazer.
You can pair the light blue blazer with navy or khaki pants. Our biggest tip for this post – – -brown shoes; please with navy pants wear brown shoes. Actually, we prefer brown shoes with any pants sans black… a little style we picked up from the Italians. So there you go – a short and sweet post with a lot of style. Now, go grab a nice tie or pocket square and kill it at the next event that requires more than a visor and swim trunks!
